About the UNC Foundation

University of Northern Colorado Foundation

The University of Northern Colorado Foundation was established to promote the general welfare, development and growth of the University of Northern Colorado.

In 1966 Judy Farr, one of Greeley’s most prominent leaders, recognized that the Colorado State College needed a venue to enhance unmet needs, and she gathered together supporters to establish the Colorado State College Foundation, now the UNC Foundation.  Judy served as the Foundation’s first president and University President Darrell Holmes was the first executive vice president.  Other members of that first volunteer Board included Charles Lott, Richard Tatman, William Southard, Nancy Van Anne and Glen Turner.

Since its establishment, the Foundation has grown into a major force in support of the University.  Through fundraising and careful management efforts, it secures and manages gifts for scholarships and programs that match the University’s teaching, research and outreach priorities.
