There's good news for you and your loved ones in Colorado. On May 27, 2008, Governor Ritter signed into effect the bill allowing the collegiate license plate program to be reinstated after it was put on hold by the state legislature.

The new bill mandates that a tax-deductible donation be made in support of University's scholarship efforts, which is whole-heartedly accepted by UNC and the Alumni Association. To encourage more individuals to Drive with Bear Pride, the UNC Alumni Association is asking for a minimum $25 donation. One hundred percent of the funds raised from the license plate fee go to the UNC Alumni Association Scholarship Fund so when you Drive with Bear Pride you help raise scholarship dollars for deserving UNC students . . . you help transform lives!

Once we receive your donation of $25 or more, the Alumni Association will send you a signed certificate which is in turn submitted to your county motor vehicle department. You will also be charged a one-time $50 state fee for issuance of the new plates.
