Randy Watkins - BA 1999
Randy Watkins received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from the University of Northern Colorado in 1999. He has professional affiliations with the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has nearly ten years of experience in public accounting, specializing in the technology, manufacturing, retail and wholesale distribution, construction, research and development, non-profit and governmental industries.
Watkins started his career in accounting with BDO Seidman, LLP in Denver, Colorado, an international firm ranked amongst the largest firms in the United States, and he later worked for Anton Collins Mitchell in Denver. He became a shareholder of Watkins & Schommer, Inc. in January of 2009, a local CPA firm in Greeley, Colorado, which was founded in 1978 by Dan Schommer, and Randy’s father, Lee Watkins.
Watkins is a current chairman of the Accounting Academic Advisory Board to the Monfort College of Business, School of Accounting and Computer Information Systems at UNC. He is also a current board member of the University of Northern Colorado Alumni Association. Watkins is also involved with the Northern Chapter of the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is a past member of the Denver Active 20/30 Organization, a Current member of Northern Colorado 20/30, the Young Professionals Task Force of the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants, and a past Big Brother in the Sports Buddies Program with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado, Inc.
