Kristi Baldino - BA 1994

Kristi BaldinoKristi Baldino grew up in Fort Morgan, Colorado and later moved to Greeley. During her first few years in Greeley, she attended AIMS Community College and worked in retail as well as bookkeeping. Ready for a change, she quit her jobs to have the career of her dreams, teaching. While attending the great school of the University of Northern Colorado, she met her husband, Rick, during one of her pre-service volunteer classes. They were married during the summer of 1991 and moved to Windsor, where he was teaching art.

Within the next few years, they had their son Mike, and Baldino obtained her teaching degree. After one semester of being a substitute teacher, she was hired to teach eighth grade English and American History. Over 1,500 students later, she is still teaching the same subjects at the same school. Baldino’s roots run deep because of her dedication to her students, their families and the community. When her husband finished his master’s degree in Educational Administration and became the principal at Milliken Elementary and later Pioneer Ridge Elementary, her family moved to Johnstown from Windsor.

Baldino considers herself to be fortunate because she has a connection with two incredible little towns. Three years ago, Baldino had the opportunity to join the UNC Alumni Association Board and celebrate her alma mater with others. Out of her connections on the Alumni Board, she was able to join the Educational Advisory Board. Her hope is that through her efforts and connections to the university, she can leave a positive footprint at a place that enriched her life in so many ways. GO BEARS!!!
